The title of my artwork is Silence which contains an ironic expression. The realization of silence in my mind while being in a crowded place like a spacing-out. I set the video installation with the portable old television and the total length of this video work is 12 minutes 23 seconds. The overall scene is full of short videos in the moving train cabin. The actual route starts from the Toronto Union Station to Niagara falls. I collected sounds from all the circumstances that I encountered. Babies crying, construction site sound, people talking, eating, singing, playing the piano at the Niagara Falls Station and the stationmaster’s announcement are the main characters of my piece. I approached this piece as a minimalism, and I intended the escape from the noise in reality. It can be translated as the coexistence between the unconscious mind and the conscious mind. Focusing on the piece, each scene and sound does not match together because I would like to show unconsciousness in my mind in a visible way.
